Liverpool to Bridlington
Coast-2-Coast cycle ride 25/07/2025 to 27/07/2025
The Route
Day 1 – cycling from Liverpool Crosby beach round the suburbs of North Manchester with lunch in the Bulls Head Walkden. Then we cross the M66 and then the M62 before a gruelling assent on to Saddleworth Moor. Then across the hills to Holmfirth.
Day 2 – from Holmfirth to Shiptonthorpe in East Yorkshire. We lunched in Pontefract, passed through Selby and ended up in Shiptonthorpe. There we enjoyed a great BBQ late into the evening.
Day 3 – from Shiptonthorpe to Bridlington. This is the easiest day across the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds and arriving in Bridlington at lunchtime.
Day 0: Thursday 24-07-2025
Day 0 - Gathering in Crosby Liverpool prior the start on Friday we congregate at the local Wetherspoons "The Queen's Picture House"

Day 1: Friday 25-07-2025
Day 1 - Liverpool to Holmfirth by North Manchester suburbs and the very taxing Saddleworth Moor - this was the longest day and we didn't finish until 8:30 pm.

I guess we thought we were done when we entered Yorkshire, but it was still many miles to Holmfirth.
Day 2: Saturday 26-07-2025
Day 2 - Holmfirth to Shiptonthorpe, this was a much easier day but not without hills, the biggest being Thurstonland Bank (we call it Legoland Hill).

Day 3: Sunday 27-07-2025
Day 3 - Shiptonthorpe to Bridlington - this was the easiest day because the majority chose the shortest route.

Bridloington North beach - we've finished - less than 200 miles this year.
Special thanks again to our support team: Melvyn, Pete and Annette
